Despite having one of their best players get two technical fouls and being disqualified, the Double Dribblers pulled out a 66-56 win over Fry Time.
“Once Jesse got disqualified, my teammates and myself knew we had to step-up our game and get a win over a team who has been struggling this season,” said Double Dribblers Jeremy Doucette.
Doucette filled up the stat sheets as well as getting a bunch of hustle points, taking three charges and converting on and-1 plays to finish with 25 points and nine rebounds. The big play from his teammate Rob Koripsky also helped solidify the win, stamping a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Fry Time stays winless on the season despite giving their all every time they took the floor. Adam Diaz was the high scorer with 10 points. With the playoffs a week away both teams look to gain some positive momentum. Doucette, however, says he has high hopes for the Double Dribblers in the first round of the playoffs.
“We are not too confident as far as our 2-8 record goes, but I think that our team can pull of a first round upset win, however, after that round we are unsure if our talent can help us prevail.”
