NickStrong was in control of this one from the start and defeated the winless Brick Layers 110-53 last Monday night.  It was not all pretty in the first half, as the Brick Layers only trailed 22-17 after playing their best quarter in this early season.

The Brick Layers did just about all they could in this one, as they only had four guys show up.  However, these four did produce led by Jason Binder, Justin Sherrick, and John Gagel who dropped 21, 16, and 13 respectively. Ultimately the turnovers and lack of depth led to their downfall.

On the other hand, NickStrong after having an awful schedule early on finally gets their first win. After losing heartbreakers the past two weeks, this team showed that just because they’re 1-3, does not mean they are a bottom of the tier type team in this league. NickStrong had every single player score double figures and were led by Taivarr Pierce with 26 points, and Anthony Vessicchio with 24 points and nine rebounds.

This was a team win for NickStrong.  Not only did every player score double figures, but they also had 24 assists, 15 steals, and held the Brick Layers to 22 points total in the second half.  If they keep that up, they will be getting many more wins this summer season.

As Taivarr Pierce described, this was a much-needed win. “This was a confidence booster, we finally got back to playing NickStrong basketball.” Pierce goes on to add, “Nobody wants to play us.” That remains to be seen as they are now 1-3 and look to stay hot and keep this momentum going against a very tough Redeem Team.

Despite the final score, the Brick Layers should be feeling a lot better than they have the previous weeks.  This is a game for them to definitely build off of.  The Brick Layers look to get in the win column next Monday night against the Silly Sehenders.
