NickStrong started the game 0-for-17, but that didn’t stop them it getting its first win this season.
It was a tough start for NickStrong, but nothing stopped them going into the fourth quarter. Mike Vessicchio and Anthony Vessicchio put their team on their backs tonight, especially in the fourth quarter. The game was getting close in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, but these two guys shut the gym down knocking down three after three. The splash brothers combined for a total of 56 points tonight and stole the game from The Young Kings.
The Young Kings, though, didn’t have the best of luck. The shots were just not falling for them tonight with their starting lineup. They were sloppy with the ball at the end of the game, which led to their downfall. Even with the tough loss, Alexavier Lyons had a great offensive performance with 19 points.
But the man who was a surprise was the former Shocker City player Destin Simmons. He finished the game with a team-high with 26 points shooting an amazing 57 percent from behind the arc. This was his first game back this season and with more time, this team could definitely make some noise in the playoffs this year.
This was a statement game for NickStrong. They have lost its prior three games by very close margins and the team is definitely another compete in the playoffs this year, as well.
We have a lot to look forward to this season and things will only get more interesting from here on out.
