No Limit’s Howie Miller hit 6-of-7 threes on his way to 24 points in a convincing win by No Limit. The three-headed monster of John Rullan, Tarell Vargas, and Miller struck again, leading No Limit to a 68-45 victory over the Titans.
Vargas was a jack-of-all-trades, tallying 11 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists (all five of which he made sure the scorer counted). Rullan’s five made threes brought his grand total to 17 made in the young season, leaving him and Miller as two of the league’s deadliest three-point-shooters. Can you say the next edition of the “splash brothers?”
No Limit acknowledges that their play was not perfect. Despite the large margin of victory, from the start of the second quarter until the start of the fourth, they only outscored the Titans by four points.
“We just got to play more defense, that’s basically it,” No Limit’s Javier Lopez said. “We got the offense down.”
No Limit is proof that new teams can compete with anyone, but this will be put to the test next week against the Cereal Killers (2-2).
For the Titans, the Echols brothers combined for 22 points, but were the only players in double-figures on their team. This is a team which has scored the second-least points in the league this season, scoring only more than the Air Ballers (0-4). Their offense will need a spark next week if they are to get past the hard-nosed Goon Squad (3-1).
“We have good chemistry, we just need to get guys in shape,” the Titan’s Steven Echols said. “It really boils down to playing our game instead of playing theirs.”
