Coming off of a convincing win versus The Hateful 8, Run TMC looked to knock off ZewCrew and continue on to a winning streak.
Even though, at times, they struggled to find the bottom of the basket, Run TMC was always in the driver’s seat en route to a 52-41 victory, as ZewCrew failed to outscore them in any quarter.
“We defended pretty well, the score was about 50-40. We really battled being the smaller team and it felt good to finally do what we do; run and hit some shots,” Run TMC’s Joey Zocco said.
In the contest, there were no dominant performers; Run TMC showed that it was all about the combined team effort that solidified their victory, 52-41.
For the men in blue, Shaq Holman led the way with 14 points on 5-of-14 from the field, followed by Will Hudson who had 11 points and eight rebounds. Matt Zocco also contributed a solid 10 points and four assists from the guard role.
As for ZewCrew, Mark Harrison was once again their leader. He scored 16 points on a 55 percent clip from the field. Chris Rosario also left his mark on this game, putting down 11 points and eight rebounds.
In week seven, ZewCrew will be looking to bounce back from this loss when they take on The Pandas, who have proven that they are one of the toughest teams to beat when they are at full force.
With the win, Run TMC improves to .500 on the season and will have a tough week seven matchup against Sportslook. Run TMC will have to win-out if they want to finish the season to their liking.
“We’re in playoff mode now,” Joey Zocco said. “It’s week six, we have three games left after this. We’re trying to finish 6-3. Every week we’re trying to get one win, win and advance from here on out, and get a good seed in the playoffs.”
