Lob City continued their hot start to the season by out-scoring the Werewolves in every single quarter in Week 2. Big man Daruis Debnam made his presence felt on the interior, finishing with 26 points and 18 boards. Michael Palumbo, another new addition to the defending champs, spaced the floor well and scored in a very efficient manner (50 percent from the floor and from three). Put these new pieces with the three-headed monster of Crawford, Kashouh Jr and Holt, and any opponent is in for a long night.

After a good win against a tough Swish Kabobs team in Week 1, they carried that momentum into Week 2 by blowing out Shake N’ Bake right from the tip off. Their pestering ball pressure led to 14 turnovers for Shake N Bake who never could get going. When you add a 40-point game from Nate Stichell to go along with this defense, they are as good as any team in the league. Trevor DiMicco has been a big difference maker from last season’s runner up squad, and he will need to asert himself more if this team wants to compete with Lob City.

After getting blown out in their first two games, Shake N’ Bake hasn’t gotten off to an ideal start. They have struggled as a team when it comes to taking care of the ball, which was the main reason behind their second loss to Boom-Shakalaka in Week 2. On top of careless ball security, they have struggled mightily to score, as Dan Kennedy is there only player averaging at least ten points. Shake N’ Bakes schedule does them no favors with Lob City up next in Week 3.

Although the Halfway Crooks let their win slip away from them in the closing minutes of their game against the Swish Kabobs in Week 2, they showed they are a much more well-rounded team from last season. They have shooters at just about every position, which makes them very tough team to defend. Dylan Lincoln stood out as he can score both inside and out. A late missed free throw turned out to cost them a win that may impact playoff seeding down the road.

After kicking off the Summer 18 season with a commanding win against the Wild Hogs, they were unable to give the defending champs a run for their money in Week 2. Brian Heston posted a near triple-double to go along with Gino Forte putting up 26 points. If they want to make the jump from a middle of the pack team to a contender, they’re going to need a third scoring option who can put it in the bucket consistently. A matchup against the also 1-1 Halfway Crooks in Week 3 will be a big test.

It’s never easy playing your first game ever in the league against the defending champions in Week 1, but the Bucket Chasers bounced back nicely against a gritty Wild Hogs team to earn their first win. Sergio Dalomba led the way putting up 20 points including even shot distribution and scoring from the rest of the squad. They get another tough task next week as they face off against a red-hot Boom-Shakalaka team who has yet to lose a game this season.

The Wild Hogs got out-executed down the stretch and lost a tough one against the Bucket Chasers in Week 2. Mike Banderi was the only one who could put up points for the Wild Hogs, ending the game as the only player in double digits on his team. They are going to have a find a way to get better shots as they only shot 37 percent from the field and just 29.6 percent from the three-point line in Week 2. The addition of Joey Bones next week will be a huge help against a bigger Swish Kabobs team.
