LEGACY LEAGUES WEEK 6 POWER RANKINGS

Presented by:

(6-0)

Boom-Shakalaka remains undefeated, and looked as unstoppable as ever in Week 6 against the Bucket Chasers. Their offensive play has simply been dominant. They lead the league in rebounds, assists, and points. Jose Mercado is the centerpiece of this team, but they have proven that they also have a slew of other capable scorers. Next week will be another chance for them to prove themselves against the only other undefeated team in the league in Good U.

(5-1)

Lob City beat the Werewolves in convincing fashion in a rematch from last season’s Finals. They have consistently been successful by being more physical in the paint than their opponents. When you add in the three-point shooting of their guards, they are a difficult team to stop. It is really a matter of picking your poison. Next week they will be playing a talented team in the Boston Blazers who are coming off a tough loss, but should be a good test.

(6-0)

Good U has dominated every game they have played in this season. This week, they managed a 57-point win against the Shady Dunkers. With so many different ways to hurt you, the goal needs to be to slow them down rather than completely stopping them. Next week will be their first challenge of the season. They will be facing the other remaining unbeaten team in Boom-Shakalaka in a game that will tell us a lot about this new team in the league.

4

(3-3)

The Duje’s Boys were able to pick up a win this week against the Basket Hounds. John Coutu and Zach Tartaglia both put on a show with 32 and 30 points respectively. While the Duje’s Boys have lots of talent, they still need to prove themselves as serious contenders. Next week against the Goodfellas, they have a chance to take a step in the right direction.

5

(4-2)

The Boston Blazers lost in a close one against the rolling Ozone Boys. They did not play the level of basketball that was necessary to come away with the win, but they did scrap and manage to keep the game close showing the never give up attitude of this team. They only managed to score five points in the third quarter, which did not help their case. Next week will be another challenge for the Boston Blazers as they face off against Lob City.

6

(4-2)

The Ozone Boys have been on a tear as of late. With their win over the Boston Blazers in Week 6, they extended their winning streak to four-straight. They came out the gate slow early in the season, but are certainly starting to click, playing as a team and showing they can score in many different ways. They will likely be able to extend that winning streak at least one more game next week against the Basket Hounds.

7

(3-3)

The Goodfellas picked up a win against the Stampede in Week 6. It was a closer game than they would have liked, but they pulled through in crunch time. Players are starting to step up when it matters most. Next week they will try to pick up another win against the Duje’s Boys. Their Week 7 game will be the perfect opportunity for The Goodfellas to enter the discussion for teams in contention for a deep playoff run.

8

(3-3)

The Werewolves have battled with injuries for the entirety of this season. With five men ready to go, they played hard against a very talented team in Lob City. They lost by a large margin, but the game was closer than the final score dictated. Up until midway through the fourth quarter, it seemed like the Werewolves were still in it. Next week they will hope to bounce back with a win against a longtime rival in the Halfway Crooks.

9

(1-5)

The Halfway Crooks once again lost in a close game. After picking up their first win of the season last week, it seemed like they would be riding a wave of momentum into this game, but fell just short. They finally had some depth, as they had two substitutes for this game, but could not make the most of it. They will try to pick up a win in Week 7 against one of their rivals in the Werewolves.

10

(2-4)

The Bucket Chasers have continued their downward spiral with another loss in Week 6, this time against Boom-Shakalaka. This was their third-consecutive loss. They will look to stop this losing streak next week as they square off against the Stampede, another team in need of a win. The Bucket Chasers have talent, but not have been able to put it all together through Week 6.

11

(2-4)

Island Time picked up a big win against the Halfway Crooks this week. They needed to win this one coming off of back-to-back losses. Kendall Gillians made his season debut and was immediately a difference maker. He was able to score, while also filling up the stat sheet with a variety of hustle stats. Next week they will face off against the Shady Dunkers in what should be a competitive game between two teams looking to make a statement.

12

(2-4)

The Stampede need to take a step back and see what is going wrong. Typically you would expect teams to start figuring things out a couple of weeks into the season. For this Stampede team, it has been the complete opposite as they are now winless in their last four games. Next week they will look to stop the bleeding as they face the Bucket Chasers in a game between two teams searching for answers.

13

(1-5)

Last week the Shady Dunkers seemed to have taken a step in the right direction. This week it looked as though any progress made in the weeks prior was wiped away. They lost in devastating fashion by 57 points to Good U. They have some capable players, but seem to be playing as individuals rather than a team. Hopefully, they can get on the same page in Week 7 against Island Time.

14

(0-6)

The Basket Hounds remain winless after their Week 6 game against the Duje’s Boys. They continue to come across the same obstacles of going against teams that have a stronger post presence than they do. They will need to find a way to grab rebounds and space the floor despite being undersized. Next week they will face the Ozone Boys in a game that seemed much more winnable before the Ozone Boys rattled off four-straight wins.
