Each week, ZewCrew seems to impress their crowd with some highlights and most importantly, another win; this week was more of the same as the handled And-1, 68-34.
From tip-off, ZewCrew didn’t give up their intensity; they held a solid lead throughout the contest behind their leader Mark Harrison, who also happens to be their walking highlight reel. Harrison flushed a pair of memorable dunks, one was an alley-oop coming out of the hands of Chris Rosario. Harrison finished with 22 points and nine rebounds.
Besides Harrison, there were three other ZewCrew teammates in double figures this week: David Woolfork (12), Rosario (10) and James Davis (10).
“We’re feeling really confident, I know we have a big game coming up against InSports (name recently changed to SportsLook) next week. We’re looking forward to a big one and we’re going to be locked in,” Davis said.
As for And-1, they will need to be locked in next week as they prepare to play Blood, Sweat & Beers.
With this weeks loss And-1, who has arguably played the most difficult schedule so far, joins The Land and The Hateful 8 as the only winless teams in the league. And-1 is led by Jake Miko, who was good for 11 points on 5-of-21 from the field and 11 rebounds Next week, Miko and company will have to jump out early and begin their run in the first half.
Against ZewCrew, And-1 only managed to score 13 points in the first half, which will definitely not be enough against Blood, Sweat & Beers if And-1 wants to be competitive.
While And-1 is looking for their first win, ZewCrew will be looking to avoid their first loss against another undefeated team that is SportsLook who are led by Andrew Cavanagh (40 points against The Hateful 8 this week). SportsLook will undoubtedly be the best challenge that ZewCrew will have faced so far, but the team remains confident in their abilities.
“As long as the whole team is here and we can all fully contribute to the win, we’ll be all set. We’re only as strong as our weakest link, so we need everybody here to join us as a team to get the victory next week,” Davis said.
