The Swish Kabobs jump up to the top spot after grabbing their fourth-straight victory. They really proved how deep they are, as four of their players put up double figures. The Swish Kabobs are now the lone undefeated team, and will be tested once again with Boom-Shakalaka up next.
Boom-Shakalaka is not ranked no. 1 for the first time this season following their Week 4 loss to Green Squad. Boom-Shakalaka was missing some key pieces in Nate Stichell and Ryan Rawnsley, but Brandon Sweeney stepped up scoring over 30 points. Boom-Shakalaka’s schedule gets no easier with the new top-ranked team in the Swish Kabobs ready to battle in Week 5.
Coming off a dominant win in Week 3 against Prestige Worldwide, the Green Squad continued their great play as they took down a red-hot Boom-Shakalaka team, handing them their first loss. Greg Holt lead the way with 31 points, and three of his teammates were also able to get in double figure scoring. The Green Squad will try get their third-straight win in Week 5 against the still winless Halfway Crooks.
Prestige Worldwide came into this game eager to bounce back after picking up their first loss in the previous week to the Green Squad. Prestige was able to handle the Average Joe’s by 20 despite starting the game off slowly on offense. Bryan Yarce led the way with 27 points as his team scored 44 of their 75 points after halftime. A battle of 3-1 teams is up next when they take on the Werewolves.
The Werewolves were able to get their third-straight win, coming back to defeat the Wild Hogs in dramatic fashion. Brad Allen got a rebound and scored the game-winning layup as time expired, helping to complete the double-digit second half comeback. The Werewolves will need to start their Week 5 game better than they did in Week 4 if they want to hang with the also 3-1 Prestige Worldwide.
The Halfway Crooks had a lead in the fourth quarter against the undefeated Swish Kabobs this past week, but were unable to maintain that lead. The Halfway Crooks were outscored by 13 in the final period, leading to their fourth straight loss. The chemistry is getting better for the Halfway Crooks, but their schedule doesn’t get any easier. The 3-1 Green Squad is up next, another good test for a team looking for their first win.
The Wild Hogs held a double-digit lead after halftime against the Werewolves in Week 4, but saw it rapidly disappear. They made plays down the stretch, but were unable to secure one last rebound to force overtime. This team played more as a team this week, and that has to continue if they want to scrap out their fiirst win against the also winless Average Joes in Week 5.
The Average Joe’s remain in the last spot despite having a lead in the second quarter against Prestige Worldwide in Week 4. This team is starting to hit more shots, and attacks the offensive glass well to convert second-chance points. Matt Scavitti stepped up, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the loss. Scavitti will need more help when they take on the Wild Hogs in Week 5.
