The defending champions absolutely demolished Gentlemen’s Club and set a league scoring record in Week 3. It’s going to be very difficult to beat this team when they can put up 162 points while only letting up 56 points. Six of their seven players scored at least 20 points with Greg Daniels and Mike Davis leading the way with 32 points each. This team keeps proving why they’re the best in the league.

The Flint Tropics have shot up the Power Rankings since their Week 1 win and displayed their dominance against Young Kings, winning 87-53 behind a stellar performance from Mike Bozzuto. Bozzuto led the way with 24 points, shot for 6-for-10 from behind the arc and was a rebound away from a double-double in the dominant victory. The  Flint Tropic’s deep roster was the key to their victory once again with every player getting in the scoring column. This team seems to be one of the only teams right now that will be able to challenge Shocker City come playoff time.

(2-1)

20 points from David Armstrong was not enough for The Chasers as they dropped their first game of the season to Sportslook in Week 3. The absense of Dominique Langston was noticable in the loss. This team knows how to win and they will return to their dominant ways in the coming weeks.

4

(2-1)

Run TMC was finally able to get the majority of their players back and edged out the Rim Breakers, 79-74, in a semifinal rematch that lived up to the hype. Reggie Stewart went off for 43 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in the win. Stewart was unstoppable the entire game and the Rim Breakers simply did not have an answer for him. This is the kind of performance we have expected from Run TMC and they were finally able to show it in Week 3, which is why we have them at number three in this week’s rankings.

5

(2-1)

Arguably the most surprising team of this Winter 2019 season, Sportslook won their second-straight game by upsetting The Chasers, 58-49. Sportslook used a strong second quarter in which they only allowed nine points, which was essential to their upset win. Dan Kokkoros dropped 20 points and six rebounds while Jeff Norko recorded 16 points, six rebounds and five assists to help lead the way for Sportslook. John Zervos also added 12 points as this team has surprised everyone in the league thus far with their large presence down low and athleticism in transition.

6

(1-2)

In a crushing defeat to Run TMC, the Rim Breakers lost the semifinal rematch in a thrilling game. Kintwon Miles led the way with 21 points, Gerald McLease had 16 points and Chris Leak had 15 points in the loss. The team played with great energy for all four quarters and will be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. Expect their scrappy play to continue into the new year. They are not to be underestimated despite the two early losses.

7

(1-1)

One of the two teams with a bye this week, Team Moose will return to action in 2019 looking to keep pace with the rest of the teams in the top half of the Power Rankings.

8

(0-2)

NickStrong was also on the bye this week after dropping two close contests to open their season. They’re a pesky team that has fought to the final buzzer in both games and should eventually pull out a win as the season goes on.

9

(0-3)

The Young Kings were on the losing end of a matchup against the Flint Tropics while hanging around in the second half. They are arguably the best zero-win team in the league and should be able to salvage a couple of wins before the playoffs. In their defense, the Flint Tropics came out hitting a ton of shots to start the game which would have been hard for any team in this league to withstand.

10

(0-3)

Gentlemen’s Club was subject of a brutal defeat by the hands of Shocker City. Brian Jackson scored 23 points and had five rebounds in the defeat, which was the lone bright spot for a team. A tough early schedule has not fared well for this new team to the league. Heading into the easier part of their schedule plus getting more familiar with the league should help this team.
