(7-0)

We have finally found a team that can beat Shocker City, and they are Flint Tropics! They defeated  the defending champs and have taken over the top spot in the Power Rankings heading into the final stretch of the regular season. This team is playing their best basketball of the season at the perfect time as the playoffs approach. This team gets no favors scheduling wise as they get ready to face Run TMC in Week 9.

(7-1)

Shocker City has dropped in the power rankings after losing to the Flint Tropics on Monday night. Don’t let this loss hinder the fact that they have handled every other team that has stood in their way so far this season. Shocker City will still be expected to make a deep run in the playoffs and will look to avenge this loss as early as next week. Diontay Washington made his debut in Week 8 and looked rusty, creating an interesting story line for this team going forward.

3

(5-2)

It took a little longer than usual, but Run TMC was able to hold off The Chasers in overtime improving their record to 5-2. They are also among the league’s elite, especially when Reggie Stewart is hot and hitting his shots. Run TMC looks like a team that can make a second-straight Finals when their entire team is present. That will be tested in Week 9 when they take on the Flint Tropics.

4

(5-2)

Sportslook narrowly escaped defeat at the hands of Young Kings on Monday without many of their key players and no substitutions. When this team is healthy and has all of their players, they are among the most dominant and physical teams in the league. They have proven they can hang with the elite of the league and will continue to prove why they will be a dark horse in the playoffs.

5

(4-4)

The Rim Breakers are hands down the scrappiest team in the league, and they used that scrappiness to defeat NickStrong on Monday by double digits. This team has been rather inconsistent throughout the course of the season and showed how good they can be when playing their best against NickStrong. The Rim Breakers will be an interesting team to watch moving forward, who at this point will be a tough out come playoff time.

6

(3-5)

The Chasers dropped a tough game in which they went to overtime with Run TMC. This is a team that can make a lot of heads turn when they are clicking, and don’t be surprised if they upset one of the top teams in the playoffs. They are not to be underestimated and can clearly keep up with the best in the league because of the obvious amount of talent on their roster.

7

(1-6)

Do not let their record fool you, NickStrong is one of the toughest teams to play in the league. Although they lost to Rim Breakers on Monday by double digits, they are not a team to be messed with due to their physicality and natural team chemistry. They are also another team to keep an eye on in the playoffs.

8

(2-4)

Team Moose did not play for the second-straight week. When they are together in full force, they are a good team that can move the ball and put up enough points to hang with the best. The ankle injury to Kevin Blake really put a damper on their season, and will be one of the keys to how far they can go in the playoffs.

9

(1-7)

The Young Kings lost a thrilling game to Sportslook on Monday in what was the best game that they have played all season. This team is playing well enough to earn a win and continue to come up just a little short.  If they were at full strength on Monday they may have been able to defeat a tough Sportslook team. Playing their best basketball as a team will be key come the playoffs.
